Thinking of 2nd family Skoda

Featured Replies

I have developed a liking for Skoda quality and have the imminent need for another car for my 17 year old daughter who is due to take her test in a few weeks. I have driven a citigo as a loan car once and thought it a decent device. Group one insurance has never been so interesting before. Any helpful advice from others?

I would suggest moving this to the Citigo section. You will get more response there I think.

The road tests are all pretty positive, my sister just bought one and is pleased. As well as town use, the testers all say it feels like a bigger car on the open roads.

Check out AutoExpress 'Driver Power' survey and their test of 'city' cars, Citigo (and its partners) comes out well as does Hyundai i10.

Glad there's yet another great Skoda.

As above, the Citigo and its partners fair very well. We looked at one last Feb/Mar after ordering the Yeti, but ended up buying a VW MoveUP, after also looking at the Seat.

Spec and price differences are subtle, so you need to view them all. We liked the VW because of the interior trim/materials, split and lined boot, full size spare.

VW have not got stroppy about the "clutch click" issue. We phone up and it goes in. It has now been fine for 3 months. It is a very nice car.

I had a Citigo on loan before my Yeti arrived and have to say I was very impressed indeed. I am 6ft 7in tall and had ample headroom and legroom. Regarding the UP vs the Citigo, as stated the differences are subtle but in my view it's really up to whichever dealer you trust more.... You seem to have a history with The Skoda dealer so that's the way I'd go.

I had a Citigo as well as the Yeti and it's a good little car.

Obviously not the same quality as the Yeti because it's about half the price of an Elegance.

But for the cost to buy and run it's a great little thing.

Handling is genuinely fun too, you can really throw it around (safely) as it's light and doesn't have too much power.

I agree with the sentiments above. We bought a Citigo to replace our BMW 1 Series and couldn't be happier with it.

My partner's mother liked ours so much she now wants me to negotiate with the local Skoda dealer to part-ex her aged Vauxhall Meriva for a new Citigo.

Go on, do it!

My dear old mum has a Citigo and I went with her on the test drive. I liked it a lot, especially for urban use. OK on the fast A-road I tried too but you did have to plan your overtaking a bit.

My mum downsized from an Seat Altea and now has a Citigo, she is very happy with it.

Done it Went to Prospect Skoda Letchworth-with 17 year old who is approaching test ready according to her instructor and met by a warm and efficient welcome. They had made ready a 14 reg Citigo 60 Greentech-unmarked Black 5 door We brought L plates with us and the car was handed over for daughter to test-Because of modern insurance and the high grouping of my Yeti our first road drive together. Tricky hill start onto slightly busy road -a bit of nervousness with daughter tackling new clutch and first outing without dual control- and off we went.

Daughter taken seriously and dad made to fell valued customer excellent little car 5star ncap with 2yrs remaining warrranty,Skoda Assist, free servicing and 0 road tax with group one insurance-not the hardest of sells needed.

Welcome to the dual Skoda ownership club. Our citigo is 30mths old now, we tend to use it over the Yeti for shorter runs up to 100 miles. It's such fun to drive, the boot being surprisingly large for such a tiddler!

We have just bought a Monte Carlo as a second car, as it was only going to be used to wiz around town and back to and from work for the wife, the Yeti we love covered 20k in 19 months :)

The car was on offer so that's 0% and £500 free fuel plus a little discount and free servicing as well :)

My wife has a Seat Mii Sport 5 door that we use for short journeys and it's a great little car, made alongside the VW Up! and the Citigo. Wife tried all three but preferred the Mii as it gave all the options she wanted and was on 0% finance at the time.

MPG varies between 52-57 brim to brim.

I drive it when she lets me and I remember what my left is for.
