power steering issues GONE

Featured Replies

weird. been waiting to order a steering angle sensor but for the last 10 days or so the pas light has not come on. no loss of assist either. will the warmer weather have had an effect ? connections wet then dried out ???

it could be damp in the connections, have you checked for green corrosion inside the connector which is an obvious sign of damp.

Interesting..... My son's red Fabia in the avatar on left has similar problems, can someone put a photo up showing where the connection is so I can check it.

Shame that all the other 4 family Fabias in the avant have now been sold BUT we do now have a Yeti, Octavia as well as a cute blue Citigo. Trying to get a group photo similar to that.

are we talking about the connector at the pump end ? thanks

Just as a point of interest, your Fabia is a 2000 model right?  Early models had a foam jacket around the PAS pump intended to quieten it, but they used to hold water and cause it to get into the electronics of the pump. They dispensed with the foam jacket on later models. You might want to remove it if yours has one. Hope water hasn't got into your pump already.

Not sure as mine didn't have one. I presume you could just pull it off.
