vRS Combi upgrade advice

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I bought a 2003 vRS Combi a couple of months ago and it has been amazing. I've been reading things here and there and am considering upgrading one or two things. What I'm looking for is some advice regarding fitting strut braces or an induction kit or indeed both. What sort of improvements should I expect from them and how much would they be likely to cost me? Can anyone suggest other upgrades which won't break the bank? Thanks in advance.

get a ecu upgrade mate just had mine done it takes it up to 220bhp cost

Thanks for the suggestion about the ECU remap. I'll keep that one in mind. Do you find that the car has trouble putting 220hp down on the road? I'm looking for info from anyone who has added strut braces or an induction kit if possible. To be honest I'll take any good advice.

My vRS hatch has 216bhp. Once you're on the move it puts the power down well (in the dry - on a wet road mine will spin its wheels at 40 in 2nd :D )

I don't know if the induction kit gives more power, but it sounds a lot better!

instead of an induction kit get a cold air intake instead as you'll lose power with a cone filter :)

i have just fitted upper and lower front strut braces to my 4x4 estate and it seems a bit crisper to turn in and a little bit more stable on the street.

cost wise your looking at about

I've had mine jabba'ed. We'll have to meet up and I'll show you the results :D

it puts the power down well its well worth it

and i did have a k&n on the car but tsr performance recommende that i put the original air box back on they said it will be better he said dont waist your money on fancy filter as they will not do any thing

so i took his advice

Where did you get these from Bengie, did you fit them yourself, if so is this an easy job?

Assuming you mean the Audi S3 braces you could try your local Audi dealer or Vagparts on t'interweb. Easy to fit so long as you don't mind drilling ruddy great holes in your car :)

yeah, had to drill 4 holes in the turrets to fit the upper brace :o

i got mine from e-bay
