Winchester Skoda garage ruined my vRS :(

Featured Replies

Ahhhhhhhhh! Just got back my Fabia vRs from Winchester Skoda and it is ruined :Yikes:

It went in to have some leaks in the rear doors fixed and in the process they managed to do the following damage:

1. Got grease all over the seats (not a good look on light grey).

2. In an attempt to clean the grease they soaked the seats, which meant that I had to drive around with plastic seat covers.

3. The seats have now dried but left watermarks all over them.

4. The gear lever was scratched.

5. The door strap was not tightened and now makes a clicking sound each time it is opened.

6. The plastic covers around the lock buttons have fallen off.

Has anyone else had a problem with this garage?

Anyways, sorry to moan on :ashamed:

Always had excellent service from Winchester Skoda (used for a lube service and MOT) and was always impressed that they cleaned my car inside and out as part of the service. Saying that, my last visit there was in Feb/March so things may have changed since then.........

Call Skoda CS and complain to them... They hopefully might get the dealer to replace the damaged parts..

cheers

Door straps come loose all the time and they wouldnt have needed to remove it (OK they didnt spot it)

Believe me if the seats will clean up leave it at that, it will look alot better than new covers, they are an **** to fit and never look quite the same.

The lock button surrounds do quite often break when lifiting up the door trim, sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. Ask for some new ones.

Sorry to agree with Chris, Weve had both our Octys serviced there for over 2 years, thats a combined mileage of over 150,000 so a lot of services & they have always done a first class job & yes Im a picky customer. They also straightened one of the cars after it decided to go off on its own and had a slight autication with a stationary house. Again a perfect job.

We both drive high mileages each year & have experienced many different makes of cars & different dealers but in our experience they are the best weve ever found

Their standards are generally exceptionally high & I am sure things will be put right. We all occasionally make mistakes & it looks like they spotted the grease & had already made efforts to rectify the situation.

I agree your angry & have every right to be but give them a chance to fix it, if they dont then yep, name & shame.

It's all very well "spotting the grease" but why the hell would they not have fitted seat covers prior to doing a job on the rear doors? Sounds a bit slap-dash to me. :(

I've used Winchester Skoda for 2 years now, apart from one occasion where one of the salesman showed a lack of interest in selling me a Fabia vRS (I was keen to buy it from them, but he never returned my calls! It would have been the 3rd car I would have purchased from them) I have been very pleased with their aftersales care. I still am happy to take my Polo GTI there and even thought they didn't sell me my Fabia vRS they show real interest in solving my intermintent faults with the Fabia.

Looking at the praise Winchester Skoda have received in the replies to my thread I am going to put this experience down to an unfortunate series of events  .

I am taking the vRS back so that they can complete the repair of the rear doors and sort the damage to the interior. I will post back with the outcome.

If you're willing to travel down to Southampton, I can also highly recommend Freeborn Skoda :D
