Big price difference would be interesting to know what others use?

:D

I have a Dooka Wash Mitt, but have yet to use it yet as I'm currently using a Microfibre Madness Incredipad which I absolutely Love, it does exactly what it's supposed to do and requires very little maintenance, just bung it in the wash with all your other cloths and hang it to dry.

Im using a microfibre madness incredipad at the moment and quite like it. Easy to care for with it being synthetic.

A million and one suggestions incoming no doubt

I use a Brick, the scratches aren't to bad at the moment.

Dooka...Simply the best

Look here

I've got the incredipad too, wouldn't go back to anything else.

I just dropped my car at the dealer for its first service, and forgot to tell them not to wash it.... Grit filled sponge any good?

Ring them?

Certainly one I plan to try out at some point Simon - it gets good reviews.

This year I'm starting with the Adam's Wash pad. Similar to the Dooka wash pad - but cheaper.

Not claiming its better until I use it for a good while - but for the money, i am very impressed.

Two sizes available 9x9inch regular and 11x11inch Jumbo.

Ring them?

When ours was in having some bodywork repairs done they thought I was rather odd when I rang first to ask them what they wash the cars with afterwards... then me telling them not to wash it when they said it was a sponge!

Phil

microfibre wash mit.  Two bucket method.

I use the gyeon q2m woolie, best wast mitt I've used in years, and I've been through a few lol

I am using the Scythe by AD at the mo. Love it.

Ring them?

I did just that.  Hopefully I've avoided excessive swirling.... Fingers crossed.

I did sense an air of 'oh you're one of those' over the phone, but it was the service manager I spoke to so hopefully he will be able to see the car isn't washed for me.

As for the actual question.... Lots of 'I use xxx, best mitt I've ever used' comments, could everyone add why they feel that way?

I've been using a microfibre noodle mitt I got in the local pound shop.  It's a bit small but holds water well and glides smoothly, seems to pick the dirt up well, not just move it around.   It convinced me there is a better way than a 50p sponge.   As it is small and single sided (well, reverse has a nylon mesh, supposedly for a scratching at stubborn dirt.... Scratching is something I fear it would excel at, so that side isn't used) I decided to get a bigger and better mitt.  I got a sheepskin one, can't remember the make, came from CYC iirc, was a tenner maybe and a make I recognised form users here.  Its Bettetr, Holds more water, feels nicer. Id  Get another.

The Dooka is made from a quality Sheepskin , quite thick, holds a lot of water and IMO is the safest to use on all paintwork.......and if allowed to dry out naturally, will last a very long time..Ive had 2 years out of one of mine

Ah yes, caring for mitts.  I do as with a chamois, rinse in clean water, wring it out drape over the side of one of my wash buckets to dry naturally.  If I remember I have turned the mitt inside out after a day or 3 to speed up the drying.   Could I care for it better?   Maybe a bit of hide food/leather moisturiser on the inside occasionally.... Some conditioner on the wool....then again perhaps not.

Isn't the Adam's one synthetic?

Correct

The reason I went for the Incredimitt is because I had a Lambskin one before and although it was really good it just didn't last very long before it disintegrated. It may of been the way I cared for it as I know others lasted longer, but to me I didn't want to have to keep buying wash mitts or have to spend to much time maintaining them.

The Incredipad soaks up plenty of water feels really nice in my hand, makes real easy work of cleaning my cars and best of all little maintenance. I'm not going to say it's better than this one or that one it's just a personal preference, I brought the Dooka wash mitt due to all the good review and comments, and yes it feels really soft and I'm sure it'll be really kind on my paintwork but at the minute I just can't look past the Incredipad.

For me It's all about value for money and so far the Incredipad had probably been the best purchase I've made thus far. I must say though I brought one of those Paragon drying towels due to the recommendation of a couple of members on here and what a drying towel that is, perfect combination for not a lot of money.

+1 for the Dooka. I've had mine for over 12 months and it's showing no signs of packing up yet. I also have a megs mf mit I use on the sills so the Dooka doesn't get contaminated and a Dooka wheel pad and wheel woolies to round things off!

I am using the Scythe by AD at the mo. Love it.

1" N American Sheepskin pile. Clings to the car as you wash. Can't wash in the washing machine but just needs a rinse then leave to dry. Pleasure to use.

Sums up my feelings on the subject rather well, I dont get a lot of time spare to look after my car at times so the extra care needed for a wool mitt makes me reluctant to buy one.

When i bought the incredipad it was a coin toss between that and the Adams synthetic pad, I'd heard plenty of good things about both.

At the risk of being banned I have been using the 99p shop wash mits for years and love them - in the winter I ware a kitchen glove inside the mit to help keep my poor hands warm.
