Octavia 1999 SLX with Grundig MS 201

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought my first Octavia yesterday. It has a Grundig MS 201, which I understand can take a CD multi-changer. The Grundig manual is of no use in trying to find out which units would be compatible!

I know of a Grundig MCD 10 CD changer for sale. How do I know if this would be compatible? Thanks to some wise words about PVC ties being a perfect tool to remove my HU, I have taken a picture of the back.

I realise from the myriad of threads that I might be better placed just replacing it with something better, I would like to keep the Skoda original in.

Cheers,

John :)

Main thing to check is if there is cabling to the back of the car.

The standard changer is in the boot on the left hand side and that's going to be the connector you need to match up to any changer you want to fit.

If there is no wiring you would need to get this with the changer and that could bump the price up significantly , plus you'd have to take a lot of the trim off to run the leads.

Isn't there an issue with compatability with connectors? The CD changer does come with a cable, but I am unsure if the two products will be compatible?

Cheers, John.
