Flappy Paddles

Featured Replies

Hello all, I'm new to all this techy melarchy, but wonder if anyone can help me. I know that the general wisdom is to laugh at flappy paddles but the big kid in me really likes the idea, especially as unlike other systems, DSG really works......so the question is-does anyone know if there are plans to adopt flappy paddles on the 2.0 TDi DSG range of Octys??

Many thanks in advance

Not at the moment but who knows what the future may bring.

Hello and welcome BTW. :)

Some people say it's a good likeness....it's so unfair.

The new vRS in diesel form might get it but currently Skoda are not even offering DSG in the new petrol vRS.

Thanks guys. I just wish more people would come out of the closet and admit they love the idea of a flappy paddle gearbox. Just because Jeremy Clarckson and Tiff Needel reckon they are pants means nothing. I've worked with Tiff Needel (several years ago) and he was driving a 'Nissan Maxima' with a huge dent in the side! They tend to test-drive Ferrari's, Astons etc and it's well known that these automated manuals are very abrupt, the reason being they only have one clutch. Thoses nice clever chaps and chapesses at VAG are obviously much smarter. The DSG was used in an Audi rally car way back in the 80's apparently (obviously I was very young then :P ).

Love this forum :)
