Hi, can anyone help!! I bought a Rapid yesterday from Wayside Watford, great car but I've noticed that the heater direction knob is faulty. E.g when I turn the direction for air flow to face, it sends air to the screen. As I twist it all the way round in either direction it makes an awful clicking noise and seems to self adjust where it wants, e.g I've nearly got it to line up with face and blow on face, but one more complete turn moves it out of sync again. It's as if something's not catching right behind the switch (dial) it's under warranty and it's definatly not right but if I can avoid a trip to dealer with an easy fix I'd rather do that.

Sounds like the dash was out at some point and the gear spindle knocked out of line with the pipe director. Same happened swmbos citigo aftr going in to have a rattle in the dash sorted. Reassemblimg the unit which is all one piece, the pipe was knocked 90deg out of phase to where the dial was... havnt got round to bringing it back in to get it adjusted.

Hi, thanks for the reply but it's almost a brand new car, only 3000 miles ex demonstrator, so I don't think the dash was off? Although its out of line with where it should be I can get it almost in the correct position by turning it round but one or more full turns clockwise or anti clockwise and it goes to the wrong position again. It's more like trying to crack a safe than a heater control. I've also noticed that the brakes grind when you slow right down, or come to a stop, there's a small vibration transmitted through the brake pedal, feels like the pads or disks are heavily worn or have grit in between them, but in fact they are brand new. I'm actually massively disappointed with the car now and I think I'm going to have to write off my next day off taking it back to Skoda

If its pretty new id be claiming warranty works done to fix the issues..

Yeh I got onto the dealer today and they were great, they are fully booked all next week with no loan cars. 30 mins later service have arranged a sales car for me as a loan car an mines going in on Monday. Great service just a shame the cars not so good. I will let you know what the problems were found to be.
