Looking at the manual (the one i download from the net at least) re tyres as per my other thread on rating, and noticed it lists 205/50 R17 or 225/45 R17 V tyre against the 2.0l/135kw ti cr - are these a standard rims for the O3 vRS / what do they look like?

 

I noticed 3 new vRS' at my dealers all on pictoris alloys - just wondering if these have become 'default' (again?) for MY16 - but i'm sure they're 18's anyway.

 

The snow chain section of the manual only gives chains for 17's - is this a winter option wheel or something?

Does an Owners manual not advise you to use the Snow Chains only on steel wheels not alloys, so these 17" wheels would be steels.

Ignore me - of cause just realised that the vRS is not the only octavia with that engine - Scout etc i guess has this engine/wheel size combo - doh, sorry i'll get me coat...

Doesn't seem to mention steels but would be common sense... the snow chain but confuses the above though as it does refer to RS 17's..

For info in other markets the vRS does (or certainly did) come with 17" "Dorado" alloys. They look a bit like smaller silver painted and lacquered Golf GTI "Austin" alloys. Not a patch on the standard 18" Gemini to look at but make for a good OEM winter wheel or for someone wanting 17" wheels on their vRS I guess

Thanks Pipsyp makes sense - i actually like 5 spokes but only cause it makes them easy to clean. Think standard gemini's are pretty smart actually.
