It would take Škoda 2-3 more revisions to get anywhere near what Volvo are producing now and in that time Hyundai and/or Kia will have made so much progress that they’ll have the monopoly in the sub-premium category. 

 

I cant wait for the next gen of N and GTS cars.

The Octavia is morphing into a BMW 3 Series clone. At least my current car has distinctive tail and headlights even if they don't appeal to everyone it's not trying to look like something else.

I though the volvo was a 3 series there from the size that looks near identical to my F30

 

 

And that and Infinity at the bottom. Are we reaching some sort of car singularity? All cars will be 3 series with different badges.

Yup, 

Even the shapes of new A4-passat-superb are really really really similar now, and audi nudging the front ends towards a bit of a beemer clone. 

Hyundai and kia are melding towards Ford, which is also taking cues from BMW (focus and 1series...)

 

Its a bit like how quite a few 2 seater sports cars ended up looking like (imo) lotus esprit clones for a while...

Tourist-ing round London I looked down the side of Harrods to see if there was any exotica - and came across an Evoque which was a highly reflective magenta/fuschia pink colour
