Featured Replies

Hi some of you may know me from the mk1 fabia section.. I've not been on here much in the last year since breaking the fabia "vrs" estate + buying a mk6 golf.

Here's abit of background:

Cheers m8 :)

Well on the way back from meeting you the coil light came on + it went into limp mode lol!

Plugged it in + It has a boost pressure fault and 4x glow plug faults. Checked the vacuum on the turbo actuator + as expected it doesnt hold vacuum. A very common fault on the CR turbos. Luckily you can get an actuator repair kit and im fitting that along with 4x glow plugs this weekend.

Not the 1st mod i had in mind lol but a common fault i now know will be done and sorted :D

Oh dear...

My air con compressor is apparently dead as well, so we both had bad luck that day!

I'm same as you mate, money set aside for mods needed for repairs instead...

Never Reight :(

My A/C compressor was "dead" on the octy too.. dont worry.. what happens is the t30 bolt comes out the centre of the A/C pump pulley.

All you do is carefully using an air wratchet or 3/8 air gun is buzz it back in and hey presto A/C works ;)

I did it to mine as soon as I got it + gave it a regass at work. He told me A/C didnt work so I new. Its now freezing cold! The bolt had come out completely on mine so i found a bolt that fit + gunned it in with abit of locktight :)

At my old work we must have done it to 20 cars and none came back you just have to be carefull you dont snap the bolt head..

Well I replaced my leaky turbo actuator today aswell as 4x glowplugs and 4x grommets for the engine cover :)! I now have Booooost again and I'm pretty happy as everything came to £180.. all genuine bits from TPS

1st was the engine cover grommets:

That is a very lovely motor! I'm very jealous.

Look forward to this if your other motors are anything to go by. When can we expect to see the wheels on?

Thanks  I'm loving it so far especially the size of the boot

Cheers!

I did try the wheels on at the weekend but I've not fit coilovers yet so it looked abit daft at standard height lol :D! Iv swapped the front tyres to the back and I'm on the look out for some 215/35 19 tyres for the front now :)

Edited by mattvrestate

Ahh fair point, mind you I'd try them and then photoshop it so that I'd want to get it lower sooner :D

If anyone fancys photoshopping the car lower then feel free ;). It will be low on coilovers not sat on the floor with air. Probably just tucking the top of the tyres :)

The front tyres will be smaller so ignore the mammoth tyres on atm lol!
