Idiots guide to loading a USB stick with music for Amundsden

Featured Replies

Hope somebody can help....

I would like to populate a USB stick with my music for use with the Amundsden, they are all available with Album covers etc in Windows Media Player, yet if I browse the folders, there are no image files, what format/export routine do I need to use to get the music and album covers usable with the Skoda?

Many thanks in advance

If the coverart is embedded in the mp3, its just copy and paste.

Copy an album and Check if the car displays coverart.

Windows Media Player should embed the image inside the mp3.

However, you should also find 3 hidden pictures files (Tools-Folder Options->View->Hidden Files & Folder-> Show Hidden Files & Folders).

One called "folder.jpg" & 2 with a strange name like "abcdef4fgrj4.jpg* & *abcdef4fgrj4_small.jpg"

However, as Gromle said, all you need to do is copy the folders from your PC to the USB stick. (windows also copied the hidden files).

I would recommend organising the USB drive with folders for Artist & then Album to help searching on the Amundsen.

Huge recommendation on this as well.  The only way to find your music is via the directory folder structure.  My Mk1 Octavia had an aftermarket Sony unit which would allow searching on the meta data embedded in each file, so you could find all songs by an artist regardless of directory structure, but the Amundsen won't do this AFAIK.

Your folder structure needs to be something you understand and can work with so that you can find the tunes you want to listen to, unless you've got loads of playlists set up already to categorize your music (unit supports m3u, pls, wpl, m3u8, asx according to the manual)
