vRS Remap

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a 2014 vRS Fabia, looking to get engine remap, got quoted 449 + VAT for revo remap to 230 bhp. Not too sure what exactly I will benefit from this, however I do know that revo remaps are realtivley expensive for what they are? Not too sure why or how. - The only thing I am curious about is I don't want my engine to blow up or get constant torque steer / gear box issues.

Advice would be nice.

Sounds like a bargain if some REVO Dealer is going to be able to map your car.

Which Dealer is it?

Can they show a Dyno of one they have done already?

If you look at the Remap Threads on the CTHE Twinchargers down the page and on the next page you will see that

no Briskoda Members has said they have had the vRS Remapped since the revised engines were fitted by 2013.

Please be sure to have a Dyno done before and after to see how it goes on the rolling road.

Hiya

http://www.vagtech.co.uk/ - I've been in talks with them but sadly I couldn't answer the rest. I will talk with him and ask.

Although, maybe it's not released as it's not on their website, I spoke with him via email & phone.

Would be great to see the rolling road results if you can get this done. You may well be the first to have one mapped if indeed they can actually do it.....! :-)

YorkaBara,  please keep us updated.

REVO HQ have advertised it as available without opening the ECU for long enough now on the CTHE.

and referring customers to a Dealer to get details.

The Dealer obviously should know what is available and if they have not actually done a CTHE they are Franchised to a Major Company.

So it must all be good.....

Well we will see if you get it done.

Apr have 20% off this month on remaps

Will do.

As I said, I will know more about this tomorrow when it is available and I will ask if I can get a Dyno - I am trying to get discounted price as it's new kit and anything could happen. All I know is that they've provided me the quote, and the outcome. So looks like it must be ready to go in!

You do understand that you invalidate your Manufacturers Warranty with Skoda on the Engine and possibly on the DSG as well

by Remapping. ?

Standard vRS like yours are already getting over 190 ps when running on 99 ron Tesco Momentum 99 or Shell V-Power Nitro.

How many miles has your car done now,

and has it a standard Air Filter and Factory Fit Spark Plugs?

Better fuel economy?

And I wouldn't expect 230bhp, 215bhp realistic.

I spoke with Skoda they claim remapping does not invalidate warranty on the vehicle, however if the vehicle was to have an engine malfunction or something technical was found to be the problem due to re-mapping then the warranty will become VOID. However, what is the issue when I enjoy driving cars that I like, if it costs 50k to replace, then so be it, it's only paper right?

Couldn't tell you whether it has standard air filter or factory fitted plugs. Most likely, car is only 8k miles.

@newbie69 Yes, you're right. He said it is better fuel economy

@Laars - I only stated what he said at vagtech group.

Thats the way to think, smiles per miles, and its only money, drive what you want to.

£3,500 - £4,000 or so for a replacement when a REVO Remap messed up engines back with the CAVE Stage 1.

They will have it right this time no doubt for the CTHE.

Have fun.

Agreed, it's only paper. Plus, the saved money from better fuel economy will break even with any potential damage  ;)

Hey, YorkaBara, you sound like a kind and generous gentleman.

My Uncle is, or rather was, the Nigerian Minister of Health. Last year he was maliciously accused of corruption by his enemies and has had to go into hiding. He is a very rich man and regular churchgoer but is unable to gain access to the funds needed to clear his name. If you could place $10,000 in used, unmarked, non-sequential $20 bills in a McDonalds bag and deposit it in the rubbish bin in the far corner of your local B&Q you would earn his eternal gratitude and a huge reward.

This is 100% risk free but if you have any doubts, he can be contacted at PO Box 419, Lagos, Nigeria.

The remap won't void the warranty on the whole vehicle but if anything breaks on the engine/gearbox (i.e the most expensive bits) you won't be covered and will have to pay out for it. If that's not an issue then happy days! Really looking forward to seeing the results of this if it goes ahead! :-)

Another UK tuner that claims to map the (CTHE)

http://www.ecuremappingspecialists.co.uk/remaps/volkswagen/polo-6r-2009-2014/gti-14-tsi-cthe-180hp/   £247+vat based in Aylesbury, bucks.

Also found this car that has apparently been done on facebook....  It is in Africa but the HP figures from the dyno don't make sense...  159HP stock not sure about that.

I like the cut of your jib ;) .

Looks like ABT are able to do this..? Sorry to bump up an old topic..

http://www.abt-configurator.com/en/Skoda/Fabia/Limo._Combi/5J0/14TSI180

210 HP - 290nm

The abt is a tuning box, not a remap. And costs €1700

While they are good at what they do, the costs of that for the same gains as a £250 bluespark or tmc box isn't justifiable :(
