Bluetooth sync?

Featured Replies

I've got the factory fitted Bluetooth in my 08 VRS and from what I can work out the kit doesn't / can't sync with my phones memory to read the contacts? So do I have to talk to my kit to enter the phone numbers etc....

Firstly is that correct?

Second, if it can sync with my phone how do I do it?

Thanks in advance

I am using RSAP and had all my contacts stored in my phone contacts, I had to duplicate them to the sim before the bluetooth could read them. Don't know if thats your problem though.

What's RSAP?

I'm using an iPhone, not sure if I can move contacts to the sim

Remote sim  access protocol? I may be wrong, basically the car takes over your sim but only your sim and not the rest of the phone. Its essentially like plugging your sim into your car. I am no expert but someone more experienced will answer soon.

Sounds about right.

I'll have another play with it tomorrow and see what I can find.

Got it sorted now.

Turns out the kit that's fitted is not a factory option. It's some other pile of shizzle....

Also just for the record iphones dont do rSap...

Would I be right in thinking that if I was to fit the factory option phone kit I would need the premium version?

If its an 08, its a pre fl and so no not the premium kit as it won't pair with the older maxidot system. With an iphone you need the hfp only modules like 5k0 035 730 d or above or 7p6 035 530 j or above and it will also need a newer headunit like a Columbus or Bolero to view contacts.

I have the Columbus with sat nav fitted.

Thanks for the info :)
