Skoda Octavia Iphone bluetooth connection

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2010 Skoda Octavia Elegance TSI. The car kit seems to work with several android devices (Samsungs) but not with my wifes Nokia Lumia or my Iphone 5S.

I have read lots on line talking about RSAP and Android devices etc. I dont want  and cant jailbreak the phones and the Skoda garage said a solution would cost £400

Can anyone tell me if there is a simple solution to connect the phones to the car kit.

Thanks

David

Hi you will need to find out if its a premium or standard hands free fitted, if its premium you will need a android phone but not all need jailbreaking as i found out with my samsung s6 / standard hands free should work with most phones depending on age of bluetooth unit.

The easiest way is 1st find out what headunit you have, if your not sure post a picture up as some have builtin bluetooth / 2nd look under your drivers seat as thats where the bluetooth module is located, it have a carpet coloured trim on top & post up the part number on the box & some one on will be able to tell you.

the only other method is find some one local to you with vcds & get a scan done as this will give the part number of the module if its separate.

It may be that you need a BT newer unit. Have a look under the seat and report the part number on the module. It will be of the form xxx 035 730 x. I suspect its an older rSap only unit which wont work on an iphone but which can be replaced for less than 100 with one that can. The actual one you replace it with will depend if you have maxidot or not.

OK i found the box and it says the following on it

5NO 035 730 C

Any idea what that means and where in manchester I can get it changed to a unit that will work ?

How do i know if i have maxidot?

maxi-dot dash.... if you have a door open - do you get an image showing you which door, or just as "red door light"?

Maxidot:

Normal (non-maxidot):

It is an rSap only module so needs upgrading for an iphone. Report back on maxidot and I will advise.

hi there

yep its a maxi dot one - thanks for your help

In which case you can upgrade to a premium module 3c8 035 730 d or e. They are plug and play, just swap over the two plugs. They are less than £100 on ebay (from Poland I believe) but mine was genuine.
