Turbo flutter 1.9 TDI MY05 BKC 105 Engine

Featured Replies

Evening all.

On my Octavia, when I change gear I have a bit of turbo flutter. Does sound funny at times! but ideally want it eliminating. It goes flat as a fart after changing gear, as the Turbo has stalled, when the turbo comes back onto boost, she pulls quite nicely.

TDi's are completely foreign to me, However Turbos as such aren't.

I assume its probably down to a Vacuum leak of a sort.

Does anyone have any pointers or suggestions where to start? Is it a common problem?

EGR is a tad moist with oil, not excessive.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same engine, not quite sure what you mean by flutter but mine also has a poor flow of power through the gears.

It lacks the rush of old style diesels and does tend to go off the boil easily. Coming off boost during gear changes it makes a noticeable whooo like sound and reminds me of an old truck, mind you it is a PD engine after all.

Gutted the egr and throttle body last night. Absolutely caked in oil and solid carbon.

Several times of carb cleaner and they're a good un.

Upon removing the top hat boost pipe, I've found what looks to be a split in the back. Like it was rubbing against the brake fluid level sensor?

Anyone have a part number for this pipe? Want to find out how much I'll get shafted for this :D

Cheer's!
