Trackday / Rally School Recommendation

Featured Replies

Well Xmas is getting closer, and with a bit of luck my mum might be asking me soon if there is any particular pressie I would like.

I've had an Octy vRS estate since June this year, but to be honest its a lot more powerful than cars I've driven in the past, so I thought a bit of driving tuition might be useful to help me appreciate it.

Just wondered if anyone has any recomendations for trackday / rally school type days.

My criteria at the moment are: -

1. I would prefer something on Tarmac rather than gravel as I'm not likely to throw my Octy round a forrest.

2. Maximum time in the car on the course.

3. Somewhere within a couple of hours drive of Manchester.

4. Driving a front wheel drive car with similar power to a standard Octy vRS.

5. Budget of

Try and find out if Briskoda or say Club SE are having a track day near you, book a slot, there are always instructors available on the day and that way you'll gain confidence.

Sounds like a track day for you.

If you fancy real rally driving try here

For that it's gotta be the Phil Price Rally School, I went this Summer with work and it was truely AWSOME!!! Admittedly it was in Wales so it was a two hour drive from the Mildands, but well worth it, Phil's and ex professional rally driver and regularly has teams like Prodrive testing up there. He's even on first name terms with Colin (McRae).

The team are very professional, all refreshments are provided and the cars are great. 2 Mk2 Escorts and a full Escort Cosworth.
