Scout winter wheels

Featured Replies

Looking to get a 2nd set of Alloys for the Scout for winter tyres.  Can anyone confirm the part numbers?

I *think*:

The size is 7Jx17" ET45

The standard polar alloys are 5E0 601 025 S  (8Z8) for PR-CD1 SCOUT, 08/14

The optional Nivalis anthracite alloys are 5E0 601 025 T (HA7) for PR-CD2 SCOUT, 02/14

But there also appears to be a 5E0 601 025 AR (8Z8) for PR-CN0 SCOUT, 08/14

Is it correct that different designs of wheels have the same model number, just differentiated by a single letter?  Is the bit in brackets (8Z8 / HA7) a colour code?   Can anyone decode the PR-CD1 type bits?

Thanks!

The Octavia 3 apparently has a number of fancy things that happen to the electrics when you plug a lighting board in, which are intended for when towing.  Are any of them likely to cause a problem when using a tow-bar mounted bike carrier?  I guess the car won't know the difference!

Its a factory-fit tow bar + electrics.

Thanks!

Are there electrics on the bike rack?  If not the car won't know anything's there. If that's the case the most likely issue is the reversing sensors might detect your bike(s) and give you false alerts.

When launched on the Continent, the Scout came out with a plainer Nivalis wheel in standard silver but without any groove or contrast.  I think anyone with experience of the Proteus wheels on the previous Scout would agree that simpler is sometimes better...
