Steinbauer Tuning Box 1.9 SDI / TDI (Non PD)

Featured Replies

I have a Steinbauer tuning box that I ran on my 1.9 SDI Fabia (ASY engine).  The car is now sold and I have the tuning box for sale.

I've done a bit of research and the steinbauer unit "STTCLM4KA10" will pretty much run on any VP37 injection pump based engines that VW made, basically we're talking old school non PD TDI diesels.  The engines covered include many vehicles, Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW... specifically I know that the unit will work on a Mk4 Golf and Mk1 Audi A3 AGR / ALH 1.9 TDI engine.

The unit worked well on my SDI, and was adjusted for no smoke on WOT, it was much smoother through the rev range, with a better pick up through the gears, I'm guessing there was slight increase in mid range torque.  Fuel economy never seemed to budge for me up or down, I suppose it all depends how you drive.  On my SDI it was a noticeable difference between having the tuning box and not.  Let's be honest it never made the engine quick, but certainly more refined and a worthwhile addition with no cost in economy.

I'm after £110 posted.
