Hey guys my engine management light has been on for a while now, I've finally got round to seeing what it was and

It came up saying error code p0638 throttle actuator. I was wondering if it was easier to replace the actuator or just replace the throttle body. Also if I replaced the throttle body would I have to us VCDS to reset it or anything like that?

The throttle actuator is the motor within the throttle body, so you'd have to replace the whole thing, I think. The ECU would need to be adapted to the new/other TB with VCDS, I believe.

 

Check for broken wiring where it goes into the connector of the TB first though, it's quite thin and sometimes sharply bent round, so vulnerable to damage.  Could be a free fix, if you found a wire broken.
