Just stopped by my local volvo dealer to get fuel from their petrol station. They had just handed over a brand new V60 Polestar to a bloke.

As he pulled away I didn't think anything of it, not realising it was a Polestar. Next thing I know is what can only be described as the most beautiful noise coming from an exhaust I've ever heard this side of a V8...it was glorious and the salesman was standing there grinning too!

3.0 turbo petrol..AWD..£50k. Lot of cash but I'd spend it for the noise...and the seats.

With his caravan club discount it probably works out at £16,500.

 

Come to think of it, wait a year and it'll then be a bargain £10,000! :(

I watched 3 Silver V60 Polestar being Demonstrated to the Police, leaving a town and opening up,

and after they switched off the sirens and were just moving with the Covert Blues, the noise was just amazing.

The S60 Polestar Concept car had 508bhp from the 3.0ltr engine, but they've detuned it to 350bhp for the production car. Chris Harris (like him or hate him) track tested one.

 

 

With that in mind I reckon it won't be long before the tuners have it back up to about where the concept car was.

My Forza version S60 is running 608bhp I think. I haven't lost a race yet. The AWD gives it epic traction off the line even against the mightiest machines!

I quite like them especially the S60 in that vid, the V60 above looks a bit bland and if I had the money which I defiantly don't I think I would probably opt for the Mercedes A45.

The part I don't like though is the name "Polestar" it sound too similar to "Pulsar", get your own bloody name.

Wish the badge was a bit nicer, also wish engine cover said polestar. Apart from that it is nice, lovely sound track and fairly quick considering size

I didn't think it sounded that good. Must of been the video. A Mountune Focus RS sounds much better!

The S60 is used by Garry Rodgers Motorsport in V8 Supercars ( Australian) and is now in it,s second season. Polestar have worked with GRM to develop the V8 engines for them, they had an outstanding first season but have been dogged with engine problems this season. They have a very good driver in the lead car ( Scot Mclaughlin),

If I could afford that I'd have it in a shot. Just about the perfect car for me and cheaper than an RS6 estate.

One in silver on a personal plate was sitting outside JP Whites on Wednesday which i was admiring,

and he give it a few gentle blips before getting to the Cross,

and it was such a pleasant noise compared to some of the Corsa etc that seem to have to let you know they are doing 30 mph.
