Brake options and pad numbers

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Thinking of improving my brakes just to keep up with the performance mods.

I'm looking at keeping the calipers but upgrading pads and discs.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Groved and drilled discs ?

What pads ? And what number I'm I looking for is it called EBC.......... ?

Cheers

Jason

Forgot to say it's a 1.9tdi 100 PD on 02 reg

Can't help you with part numbers etc but I've heard lots of bad things about ebc greenstuff pads.

Brembo discs with ferodo DS performance pads, I ran these before upgrading to brembo calipets and they were awesome even on track. Never faded once

Not to hijack thread too much, but I'd be looking for a similar recommendation for a PD100 being used as a daily. I'm not expecting miracles but some improvement would be nice.

I uprated my rears on the VRS to brembo (fronts dont need doing yet), from OPIE Oils, got the rear discs and pads for under £30, its a steal of a price tbh!

I had mintex discs and pads fitted to my remaped pd100 a while back until the discs had warped. Decided to change to brembo discs and pads. Can safely say they seem an improvement over mintex but not by much.

Got mine from gsf a couple weeks ago whilst on offer think i paid £50 all in for frint set of pads and discs should of been £79 :)

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll do my fluid first and see how much it improves.

Brembo discs don't warp, so that's actually a BIG improvement.
