Skoda Yeti 1.2 Turbo Size

Featured Replies

HI there, any pros out there know the turbo size which used on Yeti 1.2? perhaps it's the same on 1.4 and 1.8 petrol.  For example,  size 6, size 7 turbo?? Thank you!!  :sun:

Hmmm. I guess.. no one knows what size..? ^_^

Well it won't be the same unit as fitted to the larger petrols. See if you can find a helpful dealer or someone with access to the parts catalogue for specific part numbers (as opposed to size 6, 7, 8,.....)

The original 1.2TSI 8v uses a Turbo manufactured by IHI; fairly unique at its time due to the electrical solenoid actuated waste gate.

Other petrol engines have used turbos from Mitsubishi (MHI) and for diesel Honeywell and BorgWarner.

Although with the latest TSI's the name of the turbo manufacturer is not stated in the parts 'book', just the part number given.

I see.  thank you so much for the info! Reason I asked is because I'm trying to find a correct size "turbo sleeve" for my 1.2 TSI :D 21405035887542_707.jpg

Do you mean bearing?

  • Author

not, it's not the bearing.  It's a heat isolated cover which covers up the turbo itself.  This reduces the overall engine temperature.

Do you mean part 23 or 25?

Actually it's not part 23 or 25.  It's a turbo sleeve shown on the picture below :D

That's not showing.

Do you mean a heat blanket like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=18&v=iw4W8dpORWk

I would not have thought that the 1.2 turbo would put out much heat and have never heard anybody suffering any heat damage from the standard turbo.

yes! that's it! that's odd that it's not showing pictures... @_@ because I can see it on my side.  Anyway, yes, the video shows the "heat blanket" that I was talking about :)
