Batches of brand new Audi RS' on Dartmoor today?

Featured Replies

Not sure what was going on - either some Audi sponsored event (golf maybe) or I was thinking more likely demonstrator / media day, but literally saw 6-7 Audi rs3's then 5 or so RS6 avants and then maybe 5 different RS7's going through our village on Dartmoor today - all 2015 registered 'OV15 ???' Number plates.

Never been that bothered by audi's but got to say they all sounded tasty.

Are these new / updated models - Maybe thinking I'll see some reviews / photoshoots from around here.

Possibly and Audi come and drive day,

We are holding an event tomorrow, similar arrangement of cars.

What's this... And how do I get an invite to the next one round here!!... Guess I'd have to show I had more money than 3x the o3 vrs is worth

Need to get on the mailing list of your local Audi dealership and need to be interested in S and RS models.

Isn't OV the mark for Milton Keynes where all the VAG press office cars are registered?

Sounds like fun. 1pm test drive at Bradford Audi cancelled today due to roadworks and congestion...

What a nightmare!!!

I hope they all stick to the Dartmoor wide 40mph speed limit! :)

Ahaa. Is it really?

Why the heck would you take a selection of RS audis to a 40mph limit?

Might aswel drive a fabia.. ;).

OV is Oxford area with local DVLA in Oxford itself, probably closest to VAG HQ in Blakelands, MK.

Sure is.  All signed with "take moor care" as well :D

To be fair there's rock hard dartmoor ponies usually on the roads in places, as well as the black cattle - and whilst smaller and slightly less tough - there's also dumb-ass sheep too.  It's not a place for hooning safely that is for sure.

Ahaa. Sounds mad.

Sheep are bad enough. We have em in the roads all over thr place round here. Seen people plow into em, cars caved in, the sheep just stand up n walk off. Haha.

Not what id like to be doing with a 15 plate RS audi!

As Jason says, the open moors are 40mph limit but the country roads/lanes are like any other at 60 mph, with the usual tractor, cyclist, random risks (whether they should be or not is another question!) - but there are some 'fun' bits if you know them and better in the evening/night. The open moors is tempting 'out-of-hours' but having seen the state of car, pony, and driver after a coming together would think twice.

Almost wrote off my second car (fiesta 1.4 mk2) due to a dartmoor pony coming down from Haytor, was following (not racing at all as an17yr old!) my sister in her volvo and pony walked out in front of her, her volvo stopped far better than my dodgy fiesta and i went up the back of it - no damage to the volvo at all but stoved the fiesta in proper, was just about worth fixing.
