VRS steering wheel

Featured Replies

Please help, I really want to fit a 2014 ,flat bottom  Octi VRS steering wheel onto my 14 reg elegance. Skoda say they can supply but it cant be retro-fitted, apparently I could have added as an optional extra if id ordered a brand new car? Superskoda in Czech rep say it will fit my car. Its really expensive and I dont want to buy if its wrong or even worse if it damages airbag or something. Does anyone have any expereince of this cos im really confused.

Thanks :|

No offense, but this sounds a bit daft.  Should have bought a VRS in the first place?

Buy a more exoensive car just to get a steering wheel?

Hi

I am not an expert, but I have had a Superb multi function wheel and a different airbag fitted to my Monte and it's fine. My thinking is that all current Skodas share the same fittings! I saw a post of a Citigo wheel being fitted on a monte. Which goes to prove my point. So you should have no problems. But that's my my thoughts from my experance.

Steve

Skoda can supply it, the issue is skoda themselves frown upon retrofitting and dont like dealers to do such things.

I have a MY15 Elegance with flat bottom wheel if it helps.

Cheers for the advice !(Except BA Baracus....no offence ) I'll check it out , appreciate it

It should work fine as you already have a multifunction wheel....ought to be more or less a straight swap and anyone with mechanical knowledge and the tools should be able to do it......you just have to be very careful with the airbag unit as if that deploys on you youre in trouble. I think the recommendation is to disconnect the car battery and leave it for a period of time first before removing the horn cover and detatching the airbag module.
