I knew it was too good to be true!

Featured Replies

So, I drove up to Nottingham yesterday to pick up my new car (a 2007 Octavia VRS 2.0 TDI Pd 170 PS) and drove it back to Southampton without incident. It wasn't until later in the evening that I noticed the "EPS Off" button was lit, although there is no indication that the EPS is off on the dash. I've tried pushing the button, but it does nothing. That was yesterday. This morning I floored the accelerater in third gear and the rev counter reached around 2500 and stayed there as the car began to shudder. It feels like there's suddenly not enough fuel going into the engine. This has been happening regularly now all day and is most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gears, but only when you floor it. I'm assuming the light and the driving issue are related, but I could be wrong, of course. Any help at all in identifying the cause would be greatly appreciated. Car is under dealer warranty.

fuel filter?   hopefully not 39.5K  ago

Take it straight back to the dealer if it's under warranty

I was hoping to high hell that the fuel filter would be the culprit and will check. but yes, it's definitely going back. I just hope he can do something about it as I've now fallen in love with the car.
