Vrs Exhaust woes? help?

Featured Replies

Hi there, recently i thought that my lovely 2010 vrs was starting to sound a bit louder than normal (hard since the previous owner had removed the silncer lol) looking under the car i was greeted with this http://imgur.com/a/MbMks what appears to be a rusted exhaust? being a complete mechanical moron and knowing next to nothing, how bad is this? will i need to replace the exhaust and how much would i be looking at? thanks again

Yes it needs a new backbox - not sure how much OEM items are though

Is your car by the sea looks quite rusty underneath

Wow that is pretty badly rusted for a car that is 5 years old max. I don't know how much and OEM replacement is but I'm sure I remember someone on here saying the exhaust is pretty excessive from Skoda, with aftermarket options like Miltek/Cobra being viable options as replacements.

Definitely needs replacing. Worth checking out the milltek option :-)

Chop it off and put a straight through on it.

Just a heads up if a certain deal goes through I will be selling mine cheap just to get rid if your interested? Nothing wrong with it what so ever.

Pull that loose outer skin off and see what it looks like underneath.  May not be as bad as it looks at first glance.

It's just the standard vrs exhaust but I may be going milltek. Just waiting for a reply.

Aah okay

The rust appears to be on the outer skin.

Mine's going in for a service next week and I've noticed a rust patch, but not as extensive as the above, so do not want to be sha*fted for a standard exhaust if I don't need to be.

Any other mods on it? I had a green 10plate with the center box removed and used to work in a dock yard...so would explain the rust if its my old one
