Powder coated Gemini wheels

Featured Replies

Anybody powder coated their Gemini alloys black? I have anthracite Gemini's on my Corrida red vRS with the black pack and sunroof, think the black wheels would complete the look, if anybody has any pics would be appreciated to help make my mind up

Cheers! [emoji6]

Hey Steve, that's great, thanks for sharing, does look good, had my mk2 wheels done and just debating on whether to do the same with the mk3 [emoji6]

I had mine power coated from new even before I took delivery!!

Hi... How much and where did you get them done?

Hi

I have mine done at "Wheel Genie" in Huntingdon. Cost depends on if you leave the wheels with the tyres on or off! It's about (!!) £250 tyres off, £300 on. It takes about a week to do.

They do a very good job, now had 3 sets of wheels and my dummy exhaust tips done by them.

I take it you post them off to this company?

If not why does it take a week?

I had my wheels on my Volvo done a few years back and they took them apart (split rims) repaired all the kerb damage, stripped and powder coated them in anthracite, did all 4 in a day.

Hi

The company is about 15 miles away, so you drop them off. They fit them in when they can. If you want it done in a day, you can leave your car with them for the day - but it would cost more!! I can not comment on if it's a good price, but I have been very happy with there service. You can only speak as you find. I am sure there ARE cheaper company's! but you have to travel!

Steve

On Facebook search for Finbar Galvin Skoda. They had a red with the challenge pack in stock that was posted on their page. I don't want to post the picture as it's someone's car now.

What tips are you asking for?

FYI, May be a bit late in replying, as I off thought the tunnel to Ftance early tomorrow! Will reply when I get my feet under my table in France!!

Steve

The fake exhaust tips mate. Just interested to see how well they look (I'm assuming they've been powder coated black?) cheers. Or Merci, depending on where you're reading this.

Hi

NO they are not Fake !! They are now Exhaust trims and they are BOTH connected to the (expensive) exhaust and both work.!!

I may be they only one with a vRS TDI that can say that!

And yes I am now in France.

Steve

I'll be getting a miltek exhaust dual exit for my TDI when it arrives

Sorry h3srr, no offence meant. Have seen the lengths you've been to on that. But it's purely semantics. You referred to "dummy" exhaust tips in an earlier post. I phrased it more clumsily, so apologies. Have followed the link, great result. Looks great and something subtly unique to your car. Enjoy France.

As mentioned before, I have an "exhaust fetish" sad I know! but it is also an expensive problem.

Yes I am over in France, I must admit that I picked the best day to travel. I hope my return is trouble free!!
