It's going to be a 280 Combi in red.

 

I want the Anthracite Pegasus wheels but they are only available on the L&K... Shame :-) ....

 

BUT

 

The Mrs hates the brown and says she would never have the beige because it will just make and look dirty after 5 minutes.

 

Is that the case ? I think it does make the cabin much lighter.

 

Other option is to drop down to the L S and make do without the wheels :-( but add the dynamic chassis.

It depends on your lifestyle.

 

Denim jeans will be a bit of a nightmare (especially if they are damp) but there are coatings you can put on the interior to help reduce any colour transfer, yes they will be a lot harder to keep looking clean but they will in fact get no dirtier than say black leather does... it will just show up more!

 

I don’t have much of an issue with the brown leather but the brown dashboard just doesn’t do it for me, so i will also be choosing the beige leather 

I will be going for the beige leather on an L&K and the Phoenix Anthracite wheels. I can't have the Pegasus wheels unless they mad a left and right. Non symmetrical wheels make me cry.

Ideally you need the interior to contrast with the paintwork IMO for the best combination, so beige leather means darker colours and brown leather means lighter colours.

 

I may still consider Moon White (metallic) with brown leather but in all honesty I think the brown dash will be the sticking point for me, so it will be Business Grey and beige leather... not sure if this will be a combi or saloon though as I love estates but I also like the photo’s of the saloon, I’m going to wait until I see them in the flesh before I decide.

I agree with Gizmo on the demin alright if you wearing them every day.  The beige is surprisingly easy to keep clean though - more so than you might think actually.  I find marks shift quick enough with just some tepid water and a cloth.  The choice of colour will be personal of course but again, I agree with the above comments on the lighter versus darker interior/exterior!

A bit worried about the size increase, plus I'll be loosing all my custom audio. I don't think Canton is going to cut it but that's all there is and I'm not going to customise a new car in warranty.

 

Anyway, back on topic - I'd be going with the beige. I've tried to like the brown but I still find it awful! Plus I plan to get the car detailed with a G Techniq Crystal Serum package which will incude some interior leather protection (L1 Leather Guard). Should hopefully keep things looking like new.

 

I hadn't really thought about the wheels not being symmetrical. Now that's going to set off my OCD. I think I can live with it though, I do like the look of the Pegasus Anthracite!

I think I will probably have to see it all in the flesh before I decide for proper. All part of the fun though and I'm certainty in no rush !! You will never regret the increase in size ! It's amazing how useful it is. Going from your Astra to the 280 is going to be great fun !! I envy you a bit. It will just make the experience even more special !!

Very true, what ‘works’ for me will not ‘work' for others

Just spent 5 minutes on the visualiser trying to work out what you meant - I think I get it!? 

 

You can't see both sides spinning at the same time so less of an OCD issue maybe?

I hate the brown L&K leather in the MKII Superb, but on out Yeti it’s actually not too bad quite nice,

however on the Yeti the dashboard is still black, whereas the Superb it is brown and black, I will reserve judgement until I test drive one in mid September as I do fancy a Moon White one, but I think I will inevitably order Business Grey / beige

I think Candy White suits the Beige upholstery better than Moon White does.
