Every now and again I look at the Roomsters for sale on e-bay ,just out of interest

I smile at some of the high mileages,but yesterday one stood out,a 2010 1.4tdi ,with 230K on the clock.

I have heard of the 1.9tdi doing high mileages,but not the 1.4tdi.

Good going assuming the engine hasn't been changed!

It's the same engine with a cylinder lopped off, so why not?

 

I've been on the hunt for a cheapy to make a Practik out of for a while.

Yes I suppose I think of a 3 cylinder engine as having more to do,and being less well balanced than a four cylinder,but if its done 230k on one engine then my thinking is completely wrong.

Is it genuinely 230,000 miles (so 46,000 a year), or is it a typo? Its easily done!

 

If it is genuine I am impressed!

It could have been a taxi.  There are a couple around here that are.

Not unknown for a working vehicle. Company I used to work for had a three year old fiesta with over 250k on. Although it was ****ed.

I've done close to 30k this year.
