that's just a standard replacement ain't it? genuine part?

Darkside seems to be the only readily available one.

I've read a few people saying piper cams do one but you have to ring them about it, at least that's what "people" have said every time I ask for a link to it.

The cam in mine is a Dbilas one.  Got it from recommendation of guy overseas who I bought direct, but if I wanted a replacement now, I wouldn't actually know who to go to  :(

spoke to darkside asked them how much 1 of these fitted along with mapping to suit they didn't want to entertain it as I weren't running their turbo, exhaust, manifold or injectors they told me they only work on or map cars that have ds parts so to turn away what not far off 2k they must be doing very well

Yeah, they put out a big post last year on facebook, forums, Twitter etc...

I don't remember it all but remember problems with copyright possibly on some of the Parts they make and sell, so said they will no longer work on cars with cheap aftermarket parts fitted, I'm sure they have exceptions but won't want to work on a heavily modified Fabia with parts copied off there own and then want them to do the hard bit.

Was something like that anyway, I'll have a look to see if I can find it!

I'm sure they're doing doing very well indeed. I don't blame them given what's gone on in the past and turning down a not inconsiderable amount of money on general principle doesn't make me dislike them to be honest.

surely they'll supply the cam, do you need them to fit it and do the mapping or are whoever makes your car as it currently stands not interested?

1k for a cam nearly joke when I can get a dibilas 1 for

 

379 euro plus delivery that's what im going for

pointless fitting a race cam unless reving engine past 5k (reving a stock pd past 5k for prolonged periods will make the bottom end exit the block)

 

back to back tests were undertaken and upon fitting a race cam the car lost power as it came on boost and made the same power until the 5200rpm limiter

 

i am informed the a 1.9 pd SDi camshaft has a higher duration and lift but not tried it myself
