Due in showroom - Mid August.

Not local to me but just spotted this on Twitter:

"The New Skoda Superb just landed at Lightcliffe Skoda North Wales.

She will be in the Showroom this afternoon"

I am going to pin this for the next few weeks so those wishing to view the new Superb can see where there is one local to them.

Please include as much info as possible.

Great thread by the way... useful.

Just wondering who has altered my post? As I did not leave all of those details like the car regs.

Sorry I went onto their Facebook page to include as much info as possible and to make the format easier to skim through.

That's ok I thought it might be you, really just wondered where the regs came from.

Dealers should not be displaying the new Superb, really, until the Launch on the 17th September... they certainly shouldn't be registering them!!

But they are on sale - lease companies and dealers alike taking orders from clients/customers.

If a car is available to view, people are more inclined to purchase if they can view/sit/drive.

I see you're new and welcome to the forum.

However, you start with a claim I would not boast about too loudly on this forum at the moment. What a piecemeal launch of a new car in the UK.

In 1984 Ford announced the mk.2 Ford Fiesta XR2. I walked into the Ford dealer just a couple of days later. The dealer was able to order it and had the specifications and options for me to peruse and choose.

In 2009 Renault announced the Laguna Coupe. Again I walked into the Renault dealer a few days later and just as with Ford before, they had the specs and options and I was able to order it.

Škoda UK announces the prices and specifications beginning of this June. Mid-June I speak with a couple of dealers and they haven't got a single bit of info they can offer me, let alone place an order.

In July a dealer agrees to take my order but has to use the same downloaded public PDF brochure I used to choose and specify my car (a brochure that was also full of errors, I might add), because they'd received no information from Škoda UK.

And now you criticise your dealerships for doing what YOUR company should be doing in the first place - putting the car and info "out there"?

Welcome

If this thread is an issue and may get any dealer into trouble then I am happy to hide the thread, however the dealer I spoke to only mentioned that their car would not be able to be test driven... but it will be in the showroom.

I also agree with this, for me it’s not a case of will I buy one or not rather do I but the estate or hatch and can I live with the brown dash on the L&K (with brown leather) I am ready to order a car... but will not do so until I have seen an estate and hatch personally

No problem, I think quite a few potential customers are feeling a little frustrated that there are no (officially according to s4mc0x) cars available to view in England for 2 months after the press have already had their hands on them (in the UK)

It is available to see in "showrooms",.and with us I know that some newspaper reporters allready had the chance to "touch" it...and...

Also, new buyers are more comfortable to buy a new car after see it in real life then to see it on picture.

And from seen, there are allready a lot of new buyers for the MK3.

All Mr. Skoda man has done is make Skoda UK look poor which is the opposite of what my dealer is trying to do in being very helpful with anything they can.

Does anyone know if there is one to view in Leicestershire?

Pity you do not live near South Wales as I have one for 24 hours tomorrow afternoon.

Will you be posting some pics and a write up, would be good to hear about it under normal everyday life conditions.

Would be good to know what the visability is look out the rear as I don't think it looks that great

I will see what my illiterate brain can come up with.
