Have you wiped it with a cloth recently?

I seem to remember reading something that rhe static can temporarily wipe it

I read that too, can't find the thread but I'm sure it was rectified by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, does that sound familiar?

If you are refering to the one with the green display and not the maxidot then I don't think you can do anything about it.

Contact the dealer for a replacement. I had the same issue and the whole tacho was replaced under waranty, hope that applies to you too.

Top man!

Joined the forum just to say thanks for the tip.

My multifunction display went dead whilst I was wiping the dust from it with a microfibre cloth. Very light pressure - just wanted to wipe dust off.

Fault persisted for 3 days waiting for an opportunity to disconnect battery for up to 3hrs.

Did it today - only disconn'd for 15 mins. Display now working again perfectly.

Cheers!

Hi, Just wanted to say thank you for the battery tip. After having a quote for £570 to repair this fault we tried disconnecting the battery as advised on this forum. Reconnected it after 2 hours and the display is now working fine!

Thanks very much guys!!

Not that I have this problem, BUT Is it not almost criminal by a dealer to simply quote £570 instead of suggesting to disconnect the battery for free.....

I know that they have to earn money but these cheap tweeks must be known to them.

Yes, I absolutely agree! We would probably have ended up paying that amount if we hadn't stumbled on this forum!! The Skoda mechanic did advise us to wait a few days in case it 'righted itself.' But he didn't mention disconnecting the battery.
