which is faster in dsg sport or paddle

Featured Replies

Just wondering what yous guys thought was faster as I feel that putting it into manual feels slightly quicker.

Sport is useless. Always use manual

Manual with traction off

From a standing start I'd go with sport. But I feel like I'm making more of a contribution using the paddles. Whichever way you go, no traction control and 3/4 power in first, then full power from second onwards.

If you mean on the move, then yes go with manual control (paddles or tiptronic). If using the paddles, shift the stick over to the left, then it won't change back to regular drive mode without warning.

Fit good tyres,

D with TC off for fast sprint, Traffic Light Grand Prix, 1/4 mile etc. and Back to S or manual downshifts for decelerating, and D for Upshifts.

Or when giving it some for a full fastest time in a straight line standing start, Stop, TC off, Hand Brake not Foot Brake 1st Manual and boot it,

do not change until going from 4th to 5th.

Autotests etc,  in Sport.

Or just what ever suits you, time the different ways.

Hiilclimbs will be different maybe, its however you like to change gear.

For the Track,

Turn the Setting Down on the XDS or Off if you have a newer vRS.

Thanks guys got a rough idea what's best for crawl in September hahah.

Dont think he reckons much in that last video :D

The driver didn't seem to rate it, but then there was some serious competition and given that, it did not too bad.

Bit strange how a fabia vrs is even put against a ferrari 458 italia, and how it can be only 16 cars behind as its a performance car test.

Makes no sense to be if im honest

If i was in the market for a 458 italia, i could certainly tick off a hell of alot more cars than 16 performance cars id enjoy more.

Sorry, but its true haha :D

They are just filling Magazine Articles, making Videos, having fun and getting paid while doing it,

and they throw in some £15,000 or less cars against the others to make it look like they are showing the choices.

Its not the real world, it is Journalists in borrowed cars.

Anyone here own any of the Green vRS Fabias in the Videos?

Trie that.

Pretty fair to say, nobody has driven a 458 and a fabia side by side on an attempt to chose 1 or the other lol.

I'd chose the Fabia.

Seriously. I've never been interested in Ferraris, Lamborghinis etc..

So youve got £175k to spend on a performance car, and all you can think of is a Skoda Fabia?

Yes. Crucial that it's running the performance power plant too (1.2 HTP 54)

I'd probably buy a Golf R and do something else with the £145k I'd be saving.

'Apmaman' has Crail Times in this thread.

Maybe catch up with you there.

Have a look up the top of the page at the 'Santa Pod' thread and some Videos of the Fabias up the strip.

VrsGeo from Ayrshire is in the Blue vRS,

maybe he will get along to Crail in September.

(Brian69 from Glasgow in the Red Mk2 vRS if there is any video clips.)
