Leaving Skoda for this............

As per my 'for sale' thread, my vRS will be going to a good home to someone who will continue to treat her the way I did.

In the next week or so I will pick up my XC60 with a ridiculous spec (as you can see), on top of which I have negotiated the Polestar upgrade to be done, taking it to 215bhp/440nm torque.

Sorry to be leaving Skoda - it really has been the best car I have ever owned, by a country mile, and the 75k or so miles were complaint-free.

However, I cannot wait to use the XC60 on a daily basis - the stereo has to be heard to be believed, it is absolutely awesome, and the seats are the most comfortable I have ever sat in.

I'll still be around on here, as I want to see what happens to my vRS.   :p

Interesting upgrade - it looks very nice indeed.

Looking forward to your review of the Polestar upgrade on this engine as well.

Neighbour has one, 15 plate too his has sat nav, exhausts are faired in so not sure which model ,leather etc, looks nice, I like the revised xc90 and the S60 is nice but costs £190,000 ! cause its hand built and gauging reaction, that would put Polestar on the map instead of just bigger wheels and a remap http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/volvo/s60/18765/volvo-s60-polestar

Now that Volvo have bought Polestar there are even more possibilities as well as the Aftermarket Tuning Choices & Concepts.

Ford are catching up with the 2016 Focus RS with what Polestar (Volvo) had 5 Years earlier, or could have had,

and Ford could have had as well. (well they did with the Focus RS500 350ps Donor Engines.)

I drove one with the upgraded engine first, just to make sure it made a big difference.........it does.

The biggest thing isn't the increased power and torque, it's the rev band over which they are available - it gives it way more torque compared to stock from about 1100 rpm upwards c. 50nm more, but extends the max by 500 rpm (or so) at the top end too, and even above 3500rpm it is still kicking out 50-60nm more than stock as it drops off.

It makes it much nicer to drive and much easier to overtake at 'normal' cruising speeds too.   :p

Thanks for the feedback on your test drive. It does sound very nice indeed, esp for the diesel drivers who may be looking.

I think if I were to be tempted, as Alan says above, the Polestar S60 petrol looks more appealing for me.

If only I had the money!  :D

On a serious note, I probably wouldn't even be leaving Skoda if they did a decent sized SUV - but the Yeti is too small and I don't want to have to wait until late next year (at the earliest) for the SUV they are going to be bringing to market.

I've always liked the XC60 as well and with two young kids (3 and 6) at least I know the Volvo is safe for them too.
