Hello all you experts who live in my computer 

 

Does anyone know the specs for the bolts that secure the front seatbelt stalks in a Favorit? I replaced one of them (original was broken and bolt head was rounded) with a fairly standard bolt out of the local parts shop, but was told by someone else in passing that it wouldn't be strong enough.

 

Now I'm paranoid.

I was going to suggest matching the bolt markings on the head, but went out to check mine and it turns out it doesn't have any. Glad I checked, now, that would have made me look a right fool.

 

I, personally, would replace it with a grade 10.9 or a 12.9; just to be on the safe side. Costs a bit more, but considering it's stopping you flying face-first into the steering wheel in an accident, I'd say it's probably worth it to get the stronger bolt. (a 10.9 is roughly about 40% stronger than an 8.8, and a 12.9 is 16% stronger again.).
