Finally! New car picked up today.

Do you have any pictures of the car with the HID kit?

Here are a few quick shots... As per typical UK weather it decided to rain tonight so had to find shelter at a nearby car park! One with DRLs and LED fogs, one with DRLs and HID Dips, and one with all 3. I also have MTEC Super Whites at 100w for the main beams but that's just too bright to photograph! No more yellowy halogen on this baby. My HIDs are at 5000 kelvin but still come out slightly blue against white LEDs.

So, I changed the bulbs in the numberplate lights today. They were supposed to be canbus ready to. But unfortuently not.f905bfb4de8ec558628cb655e724557a.jpg

Very nice but I changed back, so irritating.

Has anybody else changed the numberplate lights?

How did you replace the bulbs btw? I've got some canbus T10/W5W bulbs but don't know how to take the bulb out of the current housing?!

You have to remove the whole housing. Slide against left and lift down the right side of the housing.

Ok ill give that a go! The cable connecting the housing to the electricals is quite short so I was hesitatant to disconnect in case I lose it!

Yep that worked a treat. The new LED license plate lights are perfect.

I've changed all the interior dome lights to high powered LEDs which makes a fantastic difference.

But the upgrade I'm most happy with is the CREE LED kit I've installed into the fogs. They have 3200 lumens of power and when cornering they provide amazing additional visibility! Plus, I've used a VAGCOM to code the VCDS so that my fogs and DRLs come on instead for the coming home/leaving home lights. Really slick look.

Here's some pics showing how they look and the sheer power! Definitely worth the upgrade if you guys are interested

Looks very nice

Here are a few more shots showing the LED lighting. I've gone LED with everything! Next up, finding a way to install some ambient footwell lights... I'm thinking in bluepost-129282-0-75941200-1441489935_thumb.jpg

Looks good, you've got the the same as mine except I still haven't managed to remove the rear interior lights, how did you get them out?

Using a soft pry tool... Get under the edge that is facing the front of the car and pull the housing out downward. The spring clip is pretty tough but with some force it comes out! Note: the bulbs for the rear interior lights at 36mm festoon, where the front is 42mm as I'm sure you've found out already.

Dilz, do you mean talking the whole light unit out or just the plastic lens part, I've been trying to take the whole unit which doesn't seem to want to come but I can see where the plastic lens might clip into the housing, any chance of some pics with the housing out !!

Yep I definitely mean the whole plastic housing (so the grayish plastic which has the images of the car doors open etc). I'll see what I can do about pics later today but it's worth noting that I have the panoramic roof... So my rear interior lights are split into two lights either side besides the b-pillars... As opposed to one block in the middle which I'm guessing is how the rear interior lights are for non-pano roofs.

You have to be a bit ballsy and pull down the entire housing! Not just the translucent plastic covering the bulb.
