Tyre wear.

Featured Replies

Has anyone experienced excessive tyre wear on Citigo? i.e. odd wear over fairly short period? Thanks.

I've not experienced wear I'd describe as excessive (but I don't think they'll last as long as the factory-fitted tyres on my last car, can't remember what they were). Have you checked the tyre pressure? Is the wear uneven along the tyre's axis?

I think my Mii's done 22k on the original Bridgestones. I'd like them to wear a bit more because I want to have a reason to swap them for Contis.

But no, no irregular wear

Had none on mine in 20K. Contis looked like new when I sold it.

my contis front tyres are down to 5.5mm after 4.6K miles which is poor. I run the fronts at 30 PSI.

Get the alignment checked as it could be out, my fronts needed changing last September after being on from Jan 2013, but my rears are still going strong at 20k, I do think they'll need doing in another possibly 2-3k or so

Yeah donuts in Maccy D,s :)

I've done 23000 miles, original Bridgestone Ecopia's still going strong. Still well above the legal limit - happy with this.

20k+ on mine, few track days on them and I enjoy driving the little thing. Personally for eco tyres I think they do rather well.

Yes please. What flavour? ;)

Checked the tread depth on ours this weekend. Still over 6mm of tread left on the fronts after 9.5k miles. Rears are something over 7mm. Continental doodahs on 15" Auriga wheels

Thanks. My Contis seem to be down to about 7ish mm both back & front, but the rears are more worn on the outer line of tread (Not the actual shoulder) which seems odd to me. Wear is very poor compared to last car, Hyundai Amica, when sold at 28000 backs were still OK & fronts just changed; previous Corsa went to over 55000 on rears. The Contis will be lucky to get 10000 I reckon.

PS Sorry Contis on Citigo @c3500 miles.

Coming up on 45,000 miles on my original set of Conti's. I have about 3mm left all round - I swapped fronts and rears at about 7 - 8mm.

80% of my driving is on dual carriageways and motorways mind you...
