I'm a long term lurker in this forum which has been a great source of info about the Up/Mii/Citigo. I own a Mii and I recently ordered a VW auto headlight kit from eBay.

I was unsure whether the kit would work fully with my Mii however it arrived yesterday and it works perfectly. The headlights turn on in darkness and off again in daylight. The sensitivity of the light sensor is also adjustable. An unexpected bonus is that he kit also supports coming/leaving home lights. The headlights switch on on locking/unlocking the car in darkness.

Basically in the box you get a replacement headlight switch with an additional 'Auto' position; a controller box with a light sensor attached; cable ties and some Chinese instructions. Fitting the kit is literally plug & play and I found it really straightforward.

All in all I'm really impressed for such a bargain price!

I'll double check later but from memory it was the same as the rest of the dash lifting which in the Mii is red. I've just realised that the Citigo dash lighting might be green?

Yeah, Citigo is green, I'll be fine as I haven't got a Citigo radio

I've got it in Toledo

Just been out in the car there. I can confirm that the illumination is mainly red although the 'Auto' symbol is a yellowish colour and the sidelight icon is still its usual green. To be really picky the illumination doesn't seem quite as bright as on the original switch.

Another thing I noticed. The kit claims to turn on the sidelights first if it's slightly dull and then the dipped beams when it's darker. However, in the Mii it appears to bypass the sidelights themselves and will illuminate the rear tail lights while keeping the DRLs on at the front. This is the same whether you leave it in 'Auto' or manually turn the sidelights on yourself.

Personally I think I prefer this as sidelights should 'technically' only be used for parking and I always thought sidelights are almost pointless in a car equipped with DRLs.

Yeah, don't do it :p you'll have a red headlight switch but a green radio and heater module unlike a certain someone on here who has both

 

There is some Skoda Auto headlight switches on fleebay for around £20 which would solve the green light issue?
