Aircon/Air conditioning

Featured Replies

It's been about 23°C yesterday and today.

Both days the car was sat in the sun for some hours.

Yesterday after 6km of driving, the aircon was still not blowing cool air.

Today after 25km driving, still blowing warm air.

2014 Octavia with dual zone climate control.

Driven 12000 km

A trip to the dealer is probably in order. But before I do, does anyone have experience of similar issues?

Not in a mkiii, mkii compressor failed after two years.

Probably the compressor has broken down. Happened to me also with mkII. Could also be a leakage though.

When my wife had the same experience I found out she had fiddled with the aircon controls and turned A/C off...

Is there light in the A/C button?

I shouldn't worry susi as it won't be long before the temperatures get back to normal in Finland and then you won't need it working! :peek:

No susi, never.

The car starts blowing fresh air almost immediately, even in these very hot days when I happened to start the engine in the morning (09:15 a.m.) and read on the display something like 35.5°C

Here in Australia, some of us still have our heaters on at 23 degrees.  I only turn on my aircon when it gets over 35 degrees.

Dealer booking is next week.

In the meantime, have found some online advice about diagnostics: Turn ignition on, then press the AC and "blow to face" buttons together until they start flashing. I get it to flash and it check all the fans in turn, but I can't get it to display any diagnostic numbers, etc.

Anyone got experience of this diagnostics procedure on Octavia III climatronic ?
