Hi guys,

I've just noticed that when the retractable load cover in the boot of my O3 estate is extended, there is a small gap between it and the boot lid when shut.

Is this normal or should the cover actually meet the boot lid I.e be touching it when shut? I thought the idea was to hide the contents of the boot, otherwise you can see between the gap and into the boot.

Mine's got a gap of maybe 1cm (< 0.5").  You'd be hard pressed to see anything of interest through the gap.

 

Thanks for that, it's exactly what mine looks like. For some reason I thought it came right up to the boot lid but obviously not. Hey ho!

Would imagine if the boot cover touched the lid then every time you closed the boot it would fulfill the "press" function and open the cover

Yep completely normal. Also over time with continued opening/closing you'll probably find the edges start to lip a little too.

Mine was perfectly flush when I first got the car.....18 months and 28ish K miles later it's not. At the end of the day it's fairly thin vinyl that being pulled, stretched and in use being kept under tension all the while.....

Another vote for it being normal! That's what mine does
