thermostat Felicia

Featured Replies

Hello everyone and good night. I have recently enrolled in this forum and I have received the help of Ricardo who thank you.

Felicia have a 1.3 with carburetor and liquid coolant is losing the room where the thermostat leads, more specifically by the board. As recently that I'm over here someone could tell me how to change the thermostat and gasket, I think it's very simple, but it's good to hear from those who have more experience not to screw up.

I put a picture if it helps

If there is a post addressing this issue, I appreciate sent to it and so they do not occupy your time.

many thanks

It looks like your engine suffered serious overheating. The intake manifold gasket is quite strong, but yours failed.

There are 2 solutions to fix that: the cheap one and the correct one. The cheap one: use heat resistant silicone to seal the gap. The correct one: replace the gasket.

Changing the thermostat is easy.

  • empty the cooling system
  • remove the old thermostat and old gasket
  • install the new thermostat and gasket
  • fill the cooling system with coolant
  • bleed the cooling system

Thank Ricardo again, so I thought we had to make but it is better to have the views of those who know. from the time I have the car only once I arrived almost 110 degrees Celsius but stop immediately, now I have to be, always watching and hopefully look by changing the coolant and thermostat board the problem is resolved.
