Sat Nav can't find its way

Featured Replies

We had a Columbus unit installed recently and it was working okay until yesterday.

It had lost it's current position and as a result we could not use it to plot a route.  I checked the GPS view and it couldn't find any of 14 satellites.

I tried a system reset but that hasn't worked either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Conor

Possibly a faulty gps antenna. At least hopefully it is. If it's not that then it'll be a major ball ache as it's most likely the radio board in the unit which has failed. First thing to try is asking the installer (is it under any sort of warranty or good will)? Second thing is try a new gps antenna. They can be had for a fiver off ebay.

Panic over....  User error! I had plugged in an external aerial as we had been getting lots of drop outs using the one stuck to the inside of the windscreen.  I had unplugged the GPS lead and plugged in the aerial to the blue connector.  Once it was moved to the correct connector it then could find where it was.

Must read up on things before I do anything in future!!! :D

Sorted. :nerd:
