HANKOOK K120 VENTUS V12 EVO2

Featured Replies

Have been running around on these for a few months now, covered about 2500 miles, these have replaced Falken 453, verdict here

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314461-falken-453/

Initial verdict is impressive, great grip in wet and dry and very good noise levels, rolling resistance also seems good, was a little concerned when they first turned up as the sidewalls felt rather flimsy but out on the road they are just as good as any other tyre I have used, another plus point is that they are quite a lightweight tyre compared to other brands I've used, upto 1KG each lighter will must help with the unsprung weight. Very happy with these at the moment, remind very much of the Falken 452's I used before the 453's. Will update as they wear to see how they go on.

Have had my Octy for just over 8 years and used a few different brands,

MY VERDICT, FOR MY CAR AND STYLE OF DRIVING. Don't expect everyone to agree, so no arguing please peeps

Michelin Primacy, good grip in the wet, scream like a Banshee in the dry when pressing on in the twisties, good wear and noise levels. good tyre, little on the expensive side,

Continental Sport 3, very impressive grip in all conditions, good wear and noise levels, would have Conti's again if they weren't so damn expensive.

Goodyear, (think they were F1's) what an awful tyre, poor grip and noisy swapped after 2 month's disliked them that much, that's probably why I can't remember which model of tyre it was.

Falken 452, liked these a lot, a good ,but cheaper alternative to the Conti's, remind very much of the Toyo T1S I used on my V6 Vectra, very grippy but last 3 times as long, good grip in dry, rain and snow(always got up the hill to my house) and quiet on motorway.

Falken 453, wet grip remained consistent during the life of the tyre, dry grip started ok, got gradually worse as they wore, by the last 3mm they were awful, found the noise levels at times irritating, more so in colder weather, not an improvement over the the 452's.

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2, time will tell, so far so good.

UPDATE 17/12/16.

Covered just under 6000 miles with these now, impressed with them, coped very well with all the recent rain and standing water, comfortable and quiet on motorway, great dry grip(when it is dry), wearing well even with my heavy right foot.

FINAL UPDATE 21/11/16.

Replaced these with another 4 all round. had about 2mm tread left, covered just over 16,000 miles, happy with that considering my slightly heavy right foot, more gentle driving should at least see over 20k miles. Overall was impressed with these, excellent wet grip, very good dry grip, good rolling resistance, quiet when plenty of tread, started too get a little noisy below 3mm. Sidewalls feel thin but never caused me any problems, rim protection is poor compared to other tyres. Good mid priced tyre, wear well, good grip levels. a thumb up from me

Awesome tyres on my favia vrs. Grip and Wear are the best I've come across in a long while. Love them, will definitely get more next time

I was also impressed with these. I had them put on the front of my octy vrs whilst finishing off the ventus primes on the rear. They complimented each other well although these were nicer than the primes (which were also pretty good). These are great value, will probably get 4 all round on the Ibiza when I get round to it.

That's good to hear, I have 3 of the Hankook Ventus Evo's and 1 Evo2 (I got a puncture) and as the 3 need replacing shortly I was wondering whether to get the Evo2's. I really liked the original Evo's I've got so I hope the new version of them will be just as good
