Fabia steering

Featured Replies

Ive just bought a '02 plate Fabia 1.9tdi elegance estate,(35k on the clock)and overall i am pleased with it, however the steering seems very sensitive compared with the steering on other Skoda's i've driven. This requires maximum concentration, and just seems too sharp.

Any advice would be welcome please.

certainly is a hell of a lot lighter than octy and superb... just the fabia electric power assist i think you'll find.

Just call it sharp and "sporty"

cc_7up[/quote']The weight of the steering (i.e. the amount of assistance) is adjustable by your dealer or someone with Vag-Com diagnostics.

I was about to have my Fabia's steering made heavier when I had to do an 'Elk manouver' round a sluggish Pug. I decided to live with the lightweight steering.

Most UK Fabia's are allready set to the heaviest setting at factory.

Also dealers are advised against changing the coding just in case there is an accident.
