Sun Roof Noise

Featured Replies

Hi, sorry to revive a slightly old thread. My Yeti (2.0 TDi SE Plus 4x4 170bhp) is currently in my local dealership and has been for the past 3 days for a creaky sunroof. I bought it from them last November and expect the work to be done under the 2nd hand 1 year warranty, but apparently the delay is down to wrangling between the service dept and the sale dept to work out if this does indeed come under warranty.

Sad555 and 137699, were you in similar situations and do you have any more details that might help me? Or would you be willing to mailbox me the details of the garages you went to?

Thanks

This is the first car we have owned where we made a conscious decision NOT to have a sunroof.

After years of having leaking, whistling, creaking, rattling, badly sealed, slow running, motor failures, winder failures and all the rest, we decided that sunroofs are a complete PITA. With air conditioning..... Who needs 'em?

The most annoying failures were on the most expensive cars too. Jag and Volvo.

Same as I said before had mine done when it was in for a service and it was DONE free as there is a service instruction or whatever skoda call it to cover this issue of a known defect so skoda uk should pay the dealer for the cost of their time ,,,,,,,my work was carried out at BLADE SKODA feeders Bristol who advised me of the service instruction and no charge to me.i have had several Japanese and 1 Korean cars with sunroofs and no issues whatsoever so I was not expecting any with skoda.

Thanks for the comments, and info Sad555. :)

I have responded on the Yeti Owners Club forum.

The garage I used was Winchester Motor Company.

Gummi Pflege!! Great tip. My wife's TT had hardened door seals - this would have made a difference I'm sure.

Just ordered a couple of bottles for preventative measures on my Pano Sunroof.

Thanks everyone!
