Traction Control Button - no light?

Featured Replies

not that I have noticed, they are all lit up at all times

Just checked, switch in auto position, lights not on, auto is lit in orange and sidelight position lit in green

That doesnt sound quite right. I might be mistaken about the light changing colour, but the green light is only lit in my car when regular lights are lit.

I have the autolights.

Lit faintly green and goes brighter if the lights come on?

I don't even have a TC button, so don't know why I thought it lit up LOL, But I do have ESC Sport :)

Checked tonight. Definitely auto and sidelight lights both lit when on auto. No difference between lights on and lights off

I do not have the green light lit when only the DRLs are on and switch in Auto.

Ill try to remember to take a pic tomorrow.

Only auto is lit up in yellow when DRLs are on.

The sidelight indicator should only be green when the lights are switched on manually or in auto and on I'm sure?

Thats how it works on my car atleast.

Yeah checked the manual that's how it should work. Mine doesn't.

Does it stay on if you turn the switch to off? Or only when on auto?

Ah now how odd, as mine does. I have both the parking sensors and park pilot button and both light up if you turn them on...I assume all the other ones work?

Can't think why they'd mess with something that worked to simply make it not work, it can't realistically save them any time or money by removing little lights under buttons??

My bad, it does light up...

Just checked my Fabia 3 - and that's the same as you say V6 ...

Switched to Auto - In daytime, Auto glows yellow. If it gets dark (tunnel, etc..) the green light in the Sidelight icon comes on - indicating headlights are on.

At nightime / in dark - both yellow and green are on - i.e. Auto mode, and headlights on.

Manual op  -  at 0 - nothing, no lamps.

Switch to Sidelight - and green light on - sidelights on.

Switch to headlights - no extra indication other than physical location of switch -----  and ---- the speedo and tacho background lights go to same illumination as Maxidot (mine is just white maxidot).

When headlights are off (DRLs or sidelights on), then Dial lights dim below light level of maxidot.

So, there  !!!! :whew:

My sidelight indicator glows a very dull green at night if the lights are in the off position, I presume this is so you can find the switch in the dark :)

Cheers FluffyEyeball, I saw it quickly come up on the maxidot the other day, works a treat, you defo have to look at the maxidot to see it, otherwise if you blink you'll miss it :) is a shame that the actual light on the button don't light up, but hey-ho not end of the world

You're welcome

It also comes up on the infotainment under the vehicle status bit, and that stays on until you turn the TC back on again. However I can't remember if that tells you which mode the ESP is in, just that you've turned it off.

EDIT:

Have just been to check, and yes if you look under vehicle status it gives you a message telling you whether the TC is off or if its in sport mode. :)

Hello all. No offence to anyone here, but this is one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time. Lots of "actually, now I've checked, it doesn't light up after all" and even a "I don't even have that button after commenting on it". Keep up the good work. Ha ha.
