Sorry if there is a thread on this already.

As the title says my fuel flap will not open from the button on the dash, I only bought the car over weekend and this was 1 of the little faults with the car. The seller showed me how to open through the boot but i just want it fixed.

 

What is the fault with this? Any help greatly appreciated.

I'd do the following:

 

1. Check the fuse (I don't know which one it's on - either find out or check them all)

2. Lubricate release mechanism

3. Test the switch

4. Test the relay (?)

5. Test the motor with an independent power source

6. Test the wiring

You should be able to hear the servo whine when you pish the button with theengine switched off, so that will let you know if its mechanical or electrical..

Thanks For the replies and help. I can't hear anything when i press the button so i'd say o have an electrical fault somewhere.

I will start by checking fuses and relay and also testing the switch. I don't think it is anything major wrong.
