Cats on cars

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'll keep it short and sweet.

I have a problem in that my car and SWIMBOs car I'd suffering at the paws of a local cat. It obviously likes to sit on the roof and slide down the sides causing annoying paw prints and scratches. SWIMBOs convertible is continuously covered in cat hair and I don't know what to use to deter the pesky feline....

Please can someone offer some (useful) advise??

Thanks!

Rob

Jug of water, cat on car = water on cat. Cat will soon learn.

As said, Cats need to learn the hard way..it then won't come back

Have you spoken to the owner?

Speaking to the owner won't resolve anything as cats are classed as free spirits. As outofthisworld said, the answer is water. Get yourself a water pistol or trigger spray and it will soon learn. It won't hurt the cat either by the way.

Just incase theres two cats you'll need one of these

I think Boris has a spare one in London which isn't being used! You can jetwash your car at the same time!

Agree on this one.... The high power kids water gun approach worked for me in the past.

After a few days target practise the nice little kitty found a different place to hang out.

This happens to me too, proper annoying considering my own Cat is an indoor one! I think the culprit is just a little sod that want's to wind me and my Cat up!

Trouble is, I've never spotted it doing it, so I can only assume it's during the night. May have to go all   on it.

Orange peel.

Probably not the best tactic as I'd personally opt for the water pistol approach.

But cats don't like the smell of oranges. Probably because it's a citrus.

Orange will need to be replaced every day, but it does work.

We used to spray a cat repellant on our Cadillac which had a big soft cover on it that they used to love sleeping, clawing and rolling about on. It worked for some of the cats but the water pistol approach was most effective. Kept it on the windowsill upstairs ready for some target practice out the window lol

*STOP PRESS*

I have found the cure.  Ever since my wife hoovered the roof herself the cat has not been near it.  So simples tell me where you live and I send the wife round to hoover your car roof. :D
