Caddy style grill for Felicia estate?

Featured Replies

No not a swap. It's just that I have this black Felicia diesel estate (R reg). I was told it was an ex demonstrator when I bought it - has plastic wheel arch protectors, Skoda branded wind deflectors, roof rails, the lot. But one feature I like is it had a VW style grill - all smiles and a big Skoda badge in the middle. Unfortunately it got in an argument with a Toyota last weekend resulting in a cracked number plate and a dented grill. I need to replace it and don't know if it was a Skoda accessory or whether someone at some time replaced the original with a Caddy van grill. If anyone has any idea where I can get one I'd be extremely pleased. Somewhere in the Coventry area best.

Rather than this

Sounds like its a pre facelift to me.

Unless someone did fit a Caddy grill like this..

However none of the above were good enough for me, so I got this..

That's the one right there officer - the white van! It's a Caddy grill then, thought so. Anyone know where I can get one or at least the tin part of it?

By the way that's a good looking pickup you have there.

a VW dealer should be able to get you one without any hassle. just ask for a Caddy pick up as the normal caddy was a Polo van

i got a caddy type on mine :)

never bothered to paint in tho ..... still looks good

Sadly mine doesn't at the moment. Been recommended to try GSF (German Swedish French I think) car parts here in the midlands. Anyone on here heard of them? Believe they're in Leamington but may be a larger chain I suppose.

GSF are very good, havent bought anything from them myself but know alot of people that do.

To resurrect an old post.

Does anyone have a spare VW Caddy grill and surround that they would like to swap (with some cash) for my Skoda pick-up one?

Oi! I was 'ere first. Get to the back of the queue;)

Tell you what though, if this keeps up we could try for a bulk discount.

I already got a quote from the guy at GPC (a vw and audi parts dealer) which was a little better than VW.

I'll ask him if he'll do a discount for 3 sets?

I'll post on here tomorrow if there's any news!!!

Cheers

Paulo.

This is a bit far fetched I know but..........

How about leaving the Skoda badge on??

the only people you will be fooling is yourselves.

No good I'm afraid mate' date=' that will onyl fit the mk4 Polo based Caddy Van.

How about leaving the Skoda badge on?

I'm not a badge snob Roo, I appreciate what you are saying, but I wanna customize my pick-up and make it look a bit different, and I was hoping this would be an easy route.

Group Buy News - I'm afraid GPC are unable to do any further discount.

He offers kit of grill and surround for £84 plus VAT and P+P

(which is a pretty hefty discount to VW, but not amazing!!!)

Oh well, worth a try eh....

The Skoda badge fits fine on the VW grill, that's how mine is. I'm no badge snob, I've got one on each of the four wind deflectors as well as the front and back (and another two on my other Skoda thanks). I just like the look of the Caddy grill and that's what was on mine when I bought it. It's just that some idiot dented it and I'd like to get another.

When I bought mine I passed over a few that had VW badges all over the place, I figured if someone's not happy with the car being Skoda and they really wanted a VW they'll not have looked after it the same. This one had a load of Skoda accessories and the previous owner was buying a Fabia diesel so I figured that it was a good one.

How about leaving people to make their own styling choices eh?

Anyway Paulo, where is GPC, how can I contact them? Did they say they'd do the surround alone? The plastic insert has survived more or less unscathed on mine.

GPC is here mate;

ps - gimme your old grill surround when you are sorted, I'm a whizz with fibreglass and I really WANT IT!!!!

Cheers matey,

Paulo.

Paulo, I'll let you know when I get round to sorting it out then. I panel beat it back to shape for now and it's not too bad. Unless you know to look you'd not notice. Unfortunately I know and it bugs me everytime.

Been running rough of late though so the grill fund is gone on sorting that. Bit of hesitancy / uneven running on a light throttle (diesel). Garage reckons it could be a pump thing but that could prove expensive. Still they found two glow plugs were down so did them and changed the filter so fingers crossed. Only just had to put a new cat on before Christmas too. Never rains eh?

Thanks for the link to GPC.

No worries mate,

good luck with the mota.

I'm well miffed, I've never had a problem before, but read the other day about the leaking windscreen, and lo and behold, today my footwell was wet and its dripping down behind the dash!!! Doh.

anyway, let me know about the grill, I'll swap you a standard skoda one if you want it for the time being!!!

Cheers again.

Paulo.

ps - don't the diesels run rough as arseholes anyway, mine sounds like a right bucket o' nails!!!?

Car's a bit happier after the service but wallet's not so I'll be sticking with the damaged grill for now. Mot and tax next month too. It doesn't look too bad now that I've straightened it but there's still a slight kink there:

No worries matey.

I'll keep looking.

Damn that grill looks so good too, lucky git!!
